Richard-Gotfried-MLARichard Gotfried is the MLA for Calgary-Fish Creek and was elected to his first term on May 5, 2015.

Richard is the Opposition Critic for the portfolios of International and Intergovernmental Relations, Housing, and Seniors.

During his formative and young adult years, Richard lived overseas in the Asia-Pacific region, where he accumulated significant business experience that brings valuable insights to his current work. He has also worked in senior executive positions in the private sector, as well as with Calgary Economic Development.

Richard is a long-time community leader, serving through numerous volunteer roles, including scouting and school athletics, and leadership roles on many community and business foundations.

A passionate community builder, Richard is proud to have founded the PEAK Home Ownership Program with Habitat for Humanity. He also led an innovative community partnership with the Trico Centre for Family Wellness.

Richard is a native Calgarian. He and his wife Cathy have lived, worked and raised their three children in Calgary-Fish Creek for the past 23 years.
